During his campaign speech on Saturday night, delivered amidst ongoing legal proceedings, Trump touched on various topics, including his concern about wind farms harming whales, a claim that experts have largely refuted. However, his primary focus was on targeting individuals such as "Fat Alvin" Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney, and Judge Juan Merchan, who oversees his hush money case in New York.

In his spirited address to the crowd, Trump labeled Bragg as corrupt and criticized Judge Merchan as being conflicted. Notably, these remarks came despite a judge-issued gag order, which restricts commentary on witnesses, court officials, and their families. Trump, who has already faced fines for breaching this order, launched into a 90-minute speech laden with profanity, accusing both men of doing Biden’s bidding.

Frustrated by the limitations imposed by the ongoing legal proceedings, Trump lamented his constrained campaign activities due to the trial, which requires him to spend considerable time in Manhattan. He expressed his indignation at being indicted on what he termed "bullshit." Referring to his legal woes as a "show trial," Trump compared his indictment frequency to that of notorious figures like Al Capone.

The case revolves around allegations of Trump's involvement in a scheme to silence claims of extramarital affairs through hush money payments. Michael Cohen, Trump's former fixer, is slated to testify in the trial, having allegedly coordinated payments to women, including Stormy Daniels. Trump has consistently denied these allegations and entered a not guilty plea to multiple charges.

Cohen, who previously received a prison sentence for various offenses including tax evasion and campaign finance violations, has since distanced himself from Trump, authoring books detailing his involvement. Given his pivotal role in the prosecution's case, the defense is expected to challenge Cohen's credibility, painting him as a disgruntled witness seeking retribution.
